Vehicle Description Super Rare 1964 1/2 numbers matching 289 V8 D code This car is a superb in investment that will provide its new owner with instant equity and will only increase in value! Beautiful Must see rare car ! Lovingly owned by a retired gentleman who babied this car-Always garaged kept! Most of these cars were born with a 260 V-8 and a very rare few like this one were made with the 289! The D Code 289 Mustang engine with the Autolite 4 bbl carburetor is a rare engine.
It was only offered as an option in 1964 1/2 Mustangs dated March - September of 1964.
All D Code engines used an aluminum water pump.
D Code 289's used an Autolite 4100 4V 1.
08 Venturi carburetor.
The engine was entirely gone through last year including a compete disassemble, professionally cleaned and inspected , honed, crankshaft polished and reassembled with the following new parts :
Rings , bearings ,camshaft, lifters, valves , valve springs , rocker arms, oil pump , water pump , and fuel pump.
The ignition points were replaced with an upgraded LED module.
All bearing clearances were checked and piston rings were individually gapped.
New radiator, fuel tank , fuel sending unit, new shocks all the way around.
Paired with a C2 auto transmission, Power steering Power 4 wheel disc brakes which are new.
Rally PAC tachometer The beautiful hard to find Skylight Blue paint has great shine and a good deep luster! Solid and clean underside and trunk.
Perfect chrome.
Brand new power convertible top with brand new top acctuators.
The interior has been entirely restored.
Beautiful bright red Seats and carpet.
