Qualifications:
1.
High School diploma or equivalent.

Previous experience as a school custodian or the equivalent in the custodial service at other institutions and firms preferred 3.
Able to communicate and understand simple written and oral instructions in English is preferred 4.
Able to perform all of the housekeeping functions and duties listed 5.
Able to perform such tasks as scouring sinks, furnishings, equipment, polishing mirrors, dusting furniture and mopping floors 6.
Able to effectively operate vacuum cleaners, scrubbing machines, and other custodial equipment 7.
Able to effectively navigate and operate cellphone, computer and district software 8.
Able to establish and maintain effective working relationships with others REPORTS TO:

GENERAL DUTIES AND
Responsibilities:
? Perform all tasks as assigned by the Director of Facility Operations or Building Services Coordinator ? Perform repeated tasks in maintaining an assigned area of the District in an orderly, safe, and clean condition ? Select materials and supplies from supply room, load utility cart and transport to work area.
At the end of shift, return unused supplies and cart to custodial closet, clean cart and equipment, leaving closet in a clean and orderly condition ? Clean assigned areas by washing furnishings, floors, and equipment with special cleaning solutions.
Use dust cloths and vacuum cleaner to dust window sills, blinds, floor, and furniture.
Empty wastebaskets and arrange furniture and equipment in an orderly fashion.
Scour and polish sinks, shower areas, water fountains, mirrors, and similar equipment.
Stock supplies of soap, paper towels, and other dispensable items.
Change light bulbs that can be reached with a 6 ft.
ladder as needed or per assigned work order.
? Report any mechanical failures or negative conditions as observed in the assigned area to supervisor ? Participate in completion of assigned work orders ? Initiate work orders when administration/staff inquires with a new or unusual task ? Function independently as applicable to assigned work ? Floors will be mopped at a minimum once daily with an approved germicidal cleaner ? Walls/lockers will be graffiti free.

Remove fingerprints from door, frames, light switches, kick and push plates, handles, and railings ? High dust above 7-foot height all horizontal surfaces.

? Polish stainless steel sinks ? Gum removed from under furniture ? Restrooms/locker rooms ? Polish stall partitions ? Dust and clean ventilation grills ? Wash and polish all door kick-plates ? Corridors/stairwells/entrances ? High dust above 7-foot height all horizontal surfaces - including shelves, moldings, ledges, light fixtures, etc.
? MISCELLANEOUS DUTIES ? Remove snow and salt from entrance doors area ? Check operation and locks of all panic hardware on doors, classrooms, etc.
? Wash all first floor windows on the outside as weather permits ? Wash all inside windows on weekly basis or as needed ? Make minor repairs in all areas ? Report major repairs immediately to supervisor or initiate a work order ? Immediately report to the school principal and Director of Facility Operations any damage to school property ? Assume responsibility for the opening and closing of the building each school day/night and for determining, before leaving, that all doors and windows are secured, and all lights, except those left on for safety reasons, are turned off November 1, 2022 ? Keep an inventory of supplies and equipment, and requisition such needed replacements from the supervisor far enough in advance so that they may be delivered in such time as to maintain your area ? Conduct an ongoing program of general maintenance, upkeep, and repair ? Move furniture or equipment within the buildings as required for various activities and as directed by the principal.
Do not move excessively heavy furniture ? Comply with local laws and procedures for the storage and disposal of trash, rubbish, and waste ? Maintain all machinery (floor machines, water vacs, etc.
) used in the performance of your job ? Accept and unload deliveries to each building ? Comply with the Green Cleaning act of 2007 by using only district issued products ? Comply with the Integrated Pest Management Program by reporting any and all pest sightings.

ADA COMPLIANCE Physical Ability:
Work consists of considerable walking and standing.
Kneeling and crouching required performing such cleaning functions as washing bathroom fixtures and cleaning tasks.
Hands are frequently in contact with glass, water, and cleaning and/or disinfectant solutions.
Tasks involve the ability to exert physical effort in heavy work, typically involving some combination of climbing and balancing, stooping, kneeling, crouching and crawling, and the lifting, carrying, pushing, and/or pulling of heavy objects and materials up to 50 pounds.
Sensory Requirements:
Some tasks require the ability to perceive and discriminate colors or shades of colors, sounds, and depths.
Most tasks require visual perception and discrimination.
Visual sharpness needed when cleaning, dusting, and polishing to make sure that work is being done correctly.
Environmental factors:
Tasks are regularly performed with exposure to adverse environmental conditions; such as wetness, humidity, machinery, vibrations, temperature and noise extremes, electrical currents, bright or dim lighting, etc.
