This position plays a key role in advancing the City's spatial data management capabilities by creating and analyzing data that supports decision-making processes.
Working alongside staff from various divisions, this position is responsible for initiating GIS solutions throughout the organization and overseeing the daily activities of the GIS division.
Essential Job Duties Including but not limited to:
Manage, maintain and evaluate various City enterprise management systems such as ArcGIS and related software and databases.
Assist division supervisors with identifying GIS needs and develop and implement GIS-based solutions in response.
Design, produce and maintain various maps, plans and details for City staff as it relates to various projects and initiatives.
Coordinate, direct and schedule field operations pertaining to data collections, utilizing UAS and/or GPS equipment.
Supervise the daily activities of the GIS division, including staff, budget and project timelines and management.
Develop and administer training opportunities to all City staff as it relates to GIS software and equipment.
Respond to inquiries and troubleshoot when it comes to technical support for issues related to GIS software, equipment, concepts, etc.
Maintain current knowledge of strategic initiatives throughout the City, attend City Council meetings as necessary.
Additional duties as necessary.
Qualifications Ideal candidates will have a Bachelor's degree from an accredited four-year college or university in GIS, Geography, Computer Science, Civil/Environmental Engineering, Planning or a closely related field; and, Experience with various GIS software (ArcGIS), including GIS editing functions, spatial analysis, utility networks and geoprocessing models Strong understanding of spatial databases and data management principles Excellent communication and collaboration skills with the ability to analyze and present data to various stakeholders throughout the City Three to five years of supervisory experience FAA UAS Remote Pilot (Part 107) License or the ability to acquire within 12 months of hire Knowledge of municipal utilities is desirable The qualifications listed above are guidelines.

Salary Salary for this position is dependent on qualifications and starts at $82,231 per year.
